Small Turtle
David and Jared, two 7-year-old boys, were having an animated conversation while playing outside. Holding a very small green turtle, the kind you buy at discounat stores for a few dollars, David said to his young friend, “You sure are lucky to have a turtle.” After a long pause, David sighed and said, “All I have is a dog, a cat and a horse.”
Lessons Learned:
• Sometimes we concentrate on the things we don’t have instead of the things we do have
• Often the things we have are of far greater value than the things we covet
• We should be grateful for what we have and quit worrying about what others have
